About Doug

Email: dhuyser@classicengineering.com

My dad was a construction superintendent in Grand Rapids back in the day and to name a couple, had the opportunity to work on the Fish Ladder and the Monroe Center walking mall, which later became Rosa Parks Circle. If you know Grand Rapids history, you will know that things change, but classics are classics for a reason.

To me “classic” applies to the relationships our engineers have established with each other and with our clients over more than 20 years. Our record of performance and results has built trust.

My mindset has always been to maintain a flat organization, not to have a bureaucracy so that everyone can take responsibility and be as close to their own work as possible.

Outside of Work:

I’m always on the move. I’m currently a member of the Speed Merchants Cycling Team and on the board of the West Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance. I enjoy boating and waterskiing, kickboxing and the great craft beer in West Michigan.
