The way we design mechanical, plumbing and HVAC lets builders keep floor heights down, reducing cost. As West Michigan-based engineers, our design work is comparable to big city engineers but at a better value. A critical structural engineering design-challenge required installation of caissons to support the weight of the hotel situated on the site of a former parking area.
Embassy Suites, a Hilton property, is just one of the multiple hotel brands which has Classic Engineering design “in their bones.” The seven-story hotel overlooking the Grand River includes a second-floor pool and fitness facility, “Big E’s,” a sports-bar themed restaurant, and meeting and banquet space which can accommodate 250 people. It is the largest new construction hotel in downtown Grand Rapids.
The owner of Embassy Suites, now a capstone property in the revitalization of the Grand Rapids North Monroe Business district said, “A hotel is often a person’s first impression visiting a city and this hotel is something we can be proud of.”
